Internal reconfiguration and a rear ground extension to a Grade II listed residence.
Status: Under construction
This rear extension is designed to capture the south aspect and allow a seamless threshold between the internal living space and rear garden, transforming the quality and usability of a Grade II listed end-of-terrace residence. The new extension is distinguished by a continuous skylight detail that highlights the junction between old and new. Introduced arrow slot windows to the side elevation enhance internal daylight levels to the original front rooms. Expansive glazed doors and a flat rooflight over the day bed immerse the extension in light and enhance the garden connection.
The design manages a balance between contemporary design and working with a listed building. Glazed pivot and sliding doors are slim profile yet timber framed, and a pitched roof with angled soft relate to the existing gable roof and lintel details.
